Last meeting, August 13, we had discussed about the types and methods of communication. Let's start with the meaning of communication. Communication is the exchange and flow of information and ideas from one person to another; it is also the activity of conveying information through the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, visuals, signals, writing, or behavior. Communication requires a sender, a message, and a recipient, although the receiver doesn't have to be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication.

Communication is divided into three main parts; Words (7%), Style (38%) and Body Language (55%).
There are types and methods in communication; Conversation/Verbal, Gesture/Non-verbal, Written, Visual and Multimedia.

-Verbal communication.
This is the most common of the many types of communication that we all have been using for so long. Verbal means you talk to each other. Uttering words and phrases and sentences is considered a verbal communication.
-Non-verbal communication.
Non speaking, no words uttered, no noise type of communication; this is how a non-verbal communication is defined. This is normally used when one is not capable to speak. May it be a temporary illness that made you lost your speech, or it can be a long term sickness that will need you to learn to communicate without the use of speech.
-Written
Writing is used when you have to provide detailed information such as figures and facts, even while giving a presentation.
-Visual
These are the photographs, slides, films, charts, or other visual materials, especially as used for illustration or promotion.
-Multimedia
Multimedia includes a combination of text, audio, still imageanimation, video, or interactivity content forms.

The flow of communication is like this:
Sender should formulate a message, choose a channel/way and decide what is the best delivery/style; thereupon, Receiver will perceive then understand and response to the sender.

Communication is very important in our daily lives. Nothing can take place without some method of communication being used to express ourselves for whatever purpose. We are therefore constantly using some form of communication or another to send a message across. Without these different methods of communication available today, it would take eons for us to carry out business as efficiently as it is done today and with the same speed.
